I Want to Increase Page Rank - The Google Myth

increasing page ranking

In the search marketing world there are lots of myths and consequently, myths about different things that are involved in search engine optimisation. It is difficult for newbies and search marketers to differentiate the fact from the frauds. Here are some of the popular myths used to generate traffic to websites and hence, increase rank.

Submitting your site to search engines will improve your ranking.

Submitting your site to search engines is one of the important factors to increase page rank. Yet it has been believed by many people who use this myth for their advantage. It was believed that when a particular page has been searched by a search engine, the same page appears every time when searched. This is no longer the case. There are factors that are included in a web page like title, domain name and content that appears on a web browser. Not including these factors, your web page is less likely to appear in the search engine results.

Higher the number of links to your website, better will be the ranking.

This was a myth in the past. The truth is that you should aim for a balance between the number of links that are coming into your website and the number of links that are going out. A combination of both are often sufficient to generate traffic.

Site submission will improve your ranking.

Yet this was a myth in the past also. Now, this is also a myth. It was believed that when a particular site submitted their URL to various search engines, they would gain a better ranking. Even the site submission would increase the ranking of your website, but it was never a myth. It has also been a myth for a long period of time. There was a brief moment when the site submission would indeed have an effect on the ranking of the site, but the moment the myth died it was no longer true.

Writing content for your website will increase the number of inbound links.

Yet the content is the king and as a good content writer, if you want to earn more money, create a website where you can post articles and form a community, you should create such a website. Once you have a website that is attractive, you can write articles and share your knowledge. Within the articles, you can post your URL. Thus, when people view the results from the searches, they will find your URL and be led to your website. But what is the use of your effort if no one is aware of its existence?

Add a blog and you will earn more money.

Yet the problem with gaining money with a blog is that people don't know how to use it. del.icio.us it and search engines it regularly. You will want to include your URL not only in the article that you write, but everywhere else. This includes your blog, Facebook, Twitter and your signature. In fact, your URL should be right in the content in as many places as possible. Not only will this build a strong back-link, but it will also bring people to your blog. People will be converted to visitors if they find your website interesting.

Thus, the above-mentioned were some of the myths of search engine optimisation. If you are updated with the latest innovations and biggest lies then you can continue with your online endeavours and secure a high page rank for your website.
