Sam Walker has been forced from the field to undergo a Head Injury Assessment after being struck by an accidental shot from one of his own Queensland Maroons teammates during a friendly fixture.
The incident, described as a case of friendly fire, saw the Maroons halfback take an unintentional hit from a fellow Queensland player, prompting officials to immediately remove him from the game as a precaution.
Walker was sent for an HIA in line with the standard protocols applied whenever a player is suspected of sustaining a head knock, regardless of how the contact occurred.
It remains to be seen whether Walker will be cleared to return to the field after completing the assessment process.
