Canberra Raiders player Simaima Taufa has been sent to the sin bin after referee officials penalised him for a hip-drop tackle during the game.
The hip-drop tackle has come under increasing scrutiny in the NRL in recent times, with the code taking a firm stance against the technique due to the serious injury risk it poses to players on the receiving end.
Taufa's removal from the field for the sin-bin period left the Raiders a man short, placing additional pressure on the side at a critical juncture of the match.
