A 27-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a Tesla while on her lunch break has been remembered by those who knew her as a warm and bubbly "kind soul." Jennifer Keen was fatally hit at a pedestrian crossing near Westfield Knox in Melbourne's Wantirna South at approximately 12.45pm on Monday, after which the out-of-control Tesla ploughed into the Martini+Co cafe inside the shopping centre.
Keen, who worked at a call centre just 100 metres away, had stepped out during her break when the collision occurred. Despite efforts by emergency services to save her, she died at the scene.

Friends, colleagues and community members have gathered at the scene to lay tributes as news of Keen's death spread. A colleague described her as bubbly and sweet, saying she would be sorely missed and calling her a "kind soul."

Driver hospitalised, investigation under way
The 51-year-old woman driving the Tesla, along with her passenger, were transported to hospital following the crash. Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Police have indicated they do not believe the incident was a deliberate act. An investigation into the full circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.
