Soul and pop legend Diana Ross is set to return to Australian shores for the first time in over 20 years, announcing a headline appearance at Centennial Park in Sydney on March 5, 2027, as part of the Summertime concert series.

The 82-year-old icon last performed in Australia in 2006, when she played shows in Sydney and Melbourne. Her upcoming date will be her only Australian stop, and it falls on the eve of the Sydney Mardi Gras Parade, making it one of the most anticipated live events of the summer season.

Diana Ross Headlines the Summertime Series

Ross will headline the Summertime series with her Freedom in Motion show, bringing her extraordinary catalogue to Sydney audiences. Her hits span more than six decades, including Ain't No Mountain High Enough, I'm Coming Out, Upside Down, Stop! In the Name of Love and Chain Reaction.

She first rose to global fame as the lead singer of The Supremes before launching a massively successful solo career across soul, pop and disco. Her influence has extended well beyond her own recordings, with performers including Beyonce and Michael Jackson among those who have acknowledged the impact she has had on their careers.

Among her many honours, Ross has received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which was presented to her by then-US president Barack Obama in 2016.

Who Else Is on the Summertime Lineup

The wider Summertime series features a strong international lineup alongside Ross. US rock acts The Strokes and Kings of Leon are both on the bill, as is British dance duo Groove Armada, who will perform a DJ set.

The series brings together a diverse range of artists spanning rock, soul and electronic music, cementing it as one of the major live music events of the Australian summer.

When Do Tickets Go on Sale

Fans eager to secure tickets to see Ross perform live at Centennial Park will have the chance to do so from November 9, when a pre-sale begins. General public tickets go on sale from November 11.

Given that the Sydney show is her sole Australian date and that it coincides with one of the city's most celebrated cultural events, demand for tickets is expected to be high. Music lovers who have waited more than two decades for Ross to return to Australian stages will not want to delay.
