Brisbane Broncos captain Adam Reynolds has been forced from the field to undergo a head injury assessment after becoming involved in a heavy collision with Greg Marzhew during an NRL match.

Reynolds, who skippers the Broncos, was unable to continue after the significant impact and was required to leave the field in line with the NRL's head injury assessment protocols.

The extent of any injury to Reynolds remains unclear, with his availability to return dependent on the outcome of the mandatory HIA process. Under NRL rules, a player must pass a series of assessments before being cleared to return to the field of play following a suspected head knock.

Further updates on Reynolds' condition are expected as the match progresses.
